Water Heating Systems

Water heating that runs off the primary space heating system is more efficient, using the same energy to achieve two ends. At present most heating systems run the water and space heating, whether gas or electricity, and the addition of a secondary heating system will possibly be detrimental to the SAP rating, depending upon which fuel is used.  Significant improvements may be made to the overall SAP rating by ensuring the storage cylinders are well insulated, particularly if the cylinder has a proven high ‘measured heat loss’ figure from the manufacturer.
