Dimensions |
|
|
First and foremost the dimensions of the building need to be accurately measured. Of prime concern are the ground floor area – the area of the building in contact with the ground; the external perimeter, which should not include any part of the perimeter that is adjacent to connected heated space; the height of each storey, which in the case of ceilings that are not flat will require careful calculation; and the areas of the ceilings to the roof space, including the sloping elements, dormer windows and bay windows. The size and position of external doors and windows also needs to be measured. To complete this initial part of the assessment, The Energy Assessor should be supplied with a full copy of the architect’s plans. NOTE: Photocopies and PDF files are not acceptable for this purpose.
